Who are we?
The address of our website is: https://maccus.fr.
Comments
When you leave a comment on our website, the data entered in the comment form, as well as your IP address and your browser’s user agent, are collected to help us detect unwanted comments.
An anonymized string created from your email address, also called a hash, may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site, we recommend avoiding uploading images containing EXIF data with GPS coordinates. People visiting your site can download and extract location data from these images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our website, you will be offered the option of saving your name, email address and website in cookies. This is only for your convenience, so that you do not have to enter this information again if you leave another comment later. These cookies expire after one year.
If you go to the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and will be automatically deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will set up a number of cookies to save your login information and your screen preferences. The lifespan of a login cookie is two days, while that of a screen options cookie is one year. If you check “Remember Me”, your login cookie will be kept for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookie will be deleted.
When you modify or publish a post, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data. It simply indicates the ID of the post you have just modified. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this website may include embedded content, for example videos, images or articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had gone to that other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking tools, and track your interactions with this embedded content if you have an account logged in on their website.
Use and transmission of your personal data
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long your data is stored
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This makes it possible to recognize and automatically approve subsequent comments instead of leaving them in the moderation queue.
For accounts that register on our website, where applicable, we also store the personal data indicated in their profile. All accounts can view, modify or delete their personal information at any time, with the exception of their username. Website managers can also view and modify this information.
The rights you have over your data
If you have an account or if you have left comments on the website, you can request to receive a file containing all the personal data we hold about you, including the data you have provided to us. You can also request the deletion of personal data concerning you. This does not include data stored for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked using an automated unwanted comment detection service.
Personal AI assistant: hosting, subprocessors and retention
MACCUS installs and hosts personal AI assistants in Telegram, one per client. This service processes data that belongs to you: your conversations with your assistant, the memory it keeps of them and the files you send to it. This section describes what we do with that data. It only applies to clients of this service.
Our subprocessors
To function, your assistant relies on four providers. Here is what each one receives and which account it is billed to.
- Anthropic (Claude): processes your messages and produces your assistant’s replies. This processing goes through your own Claude subscription, taken out in your name, and not through a MACCUS account.
- OpenAI: transcribes your voice notes into text and calculates the indexes that allow your assistant to retrieve its memory. On a MACCUS account.
- ElevenLabs: produces your assistant’s voice when it replies to you by voice. On a MACCUS account.
- Telegram: this is the channel through which you communicate with your assistant. Your messages, voice notes and files pass through it, and Telegram’s privacy policy applies in addition to ours.
Where your data is stored, and where it is processed
Storage is in France: your conversations, your assistant’s memory, your files and backups are on servers located in France. Anthropic, OpenAI and ElevenLabs are American companies, so part of your exchanges is processed in the United States when your assistant replies to you, transcribes a voice note or produces a voice.
Each assistant runs in its own system account, on its own network, with its own files. We do not open your conversations without a concrete reason, and if we have to do so to resolve an incident, we will tell you.
How long we keep your data
- Your conversations, your assistant’s memory and your files are kept for the entire duration of the service.
- A backup is made every night. The last 14 are kept; older ones are automatically deleted.
- When the service ends, everything is deleted from the server all at once. The last archive is automatically erased 14 days later.
- If you request immediate deletion, the archive is erased without waiting for this 14-day period.
- Revoking access to your Claude subscription is your responsibility: only you can do it, from your Anthropic account.
Demo and quote requests
The website forms collect your name, your email address, your phone number if you provide it, the page from which you are writing and the text of your request. This information is used to reply to you and to prepare a proposal. It remains with us, is neither sold nor transmitted to a third party for commercial purposes, and is kept for the time needed to follow up on your request. The forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which verifies that you are not a robot. You can request the deletion of your request at any time by writing to maccus@marcwiner.com.
